Do not book with this tour company. They overbook their tours and you end up waiting with no one to help guide you. If you book the boat ride, they don't tell you that you wont have access to the entire boat. You need to pay extra there so be careful. You then pay extra and there are no seats for you. The boat is small and overpacked. Very uncomfortable. Book with a company that has better reviews.
Bought on Groupon a few weeks before my trip, it ended up being the biggest waste of money. The boat cruise was fine, but the bus ride was a busy. With long lines & so much traffic, it takes forever to get anywhere. I was only able to ride the bus for a couple stops before it closed for the evening. Bottom line- Don’t use this as your transportation in the city. Only use it if you want to dedicate a full 2 hours and just ride the whole route to familiarize yourself with the major sights.
A total waste of time and money. First, the hours not appropriate for NYC, the city that doesn't sleep. Buses run until 5 pm only. Second, we booked to include a liberty cruise to Statue of Liberty. The cruise was fine. But the stop, #10 or #11, closest to the cruise, was really far. We ended up walking far to get to the cruise, because we were told by a rep from Topview that people walk there all the time, and doable. Well, I walk all the time, and it was a walk. Third, I bought the ticket thru Viator because it was $20 less for a total of 3 adults than on their Topview website. To validate the ticket it stated to visit their office, and it listed the address. We were half way there and I made a call to the office, to be told that you can validate at any stop. This would have helped to know before we started to walk there. Finding the stops was not easy. Their site did not have a printable map with the stops. It stated you can get one at any stop. The first stop did not have maps, when I requested one, the driver yelled, get one at the next stop. We wanted to sit in the lower level because it was cold out. Too few seats below. Never got to sit in them. I would have given it a lower rating, but once the ride started, in spite of everything, the views were spectacular.
Took the 3 day bus tour thinking it would deal with our transport for duration of trip. In reality we used for 1 day. The wait times are quite long and then we found when they turned up they were generally full. We ended up just walking and taking taxis. The recorded audio guides were poor and timing was out. My tip would be to buy the 3 day city pass which includes a one day hop on hop off bus tour. Utilise this and see what you think. You will also get mithered all around the times square area by the guys in red coats selling these bus tours. If you decide to buy don't take first price as you can negotiate them down
The bottom of the barrel. The worst customer service. Do Big Bus and save yourself the headache. Top view doesn't have enough buses, they are never on time, when they do arrive, they are full and you have to wait longer for the next one. The last bus for uptown Central Park area leaves at 4pm. This left no time for our itinerary. I ended up walking 8-10 miles a day. I did Big Bus the first day of my trip and didn't have this problem.
Company spends all their effort on selling tickets and barely any on management and delivery of services. So workers are all very personable but trained to lie and blame. It’s sad this business has potential to do a good service for a lot of people, workers and clients both, but they missed the mark. Oversold, way overcrowded especially considering COVID, and way understaffed in semi skilled positions. Take your investment elsewhere! Avoid the pain of this broken system that has no ethics to care for it’s people.
The Statue of Liberty Cruise was ok but when we bought the tickets at 2:30 pm the guy who sold them explained the bus tour what he did not explain was they end at 5pm. We had to wait on the bus after the boat and we got to our 1st spot and the driver said everyone off. When I asked about the next bus he said we end at 5. So after paying 240 for 4 of us we basically received the boat tour and was let off the bus at our 1st stop in the rain. Then we had to pay another 33 for a taxi to get back go our hotel room. I think your people who are selling tickets should let the tourists know about the time the buses end.
They sell thousands of tickets for these tours and have maybe five buses. You will wait hours and hours at your stop and when the bus finally comes it is full. The workers are rude and don’t answer you when u ask questions they suggest getting an UBeR ad the wait is gonna be hours . Once on the bus nothing works. there is no guided tour if ur lucky to get a seat where something works it olays new york new york over and over. I have been on hop on hop off tours all over the world and this is by far the worst PLEASE TAKE THIS ADVICE AND NEVER BOOK THIS TOUR
