Originally an orphanage born out of the need after the Spanish flu, this beautiful Queen Ann Victorian style building is now a museum with lots of history.

Pass By: Lewis & Clark Historic Park at Kaw Point, 1 River City Drive, Kansas City, KS 66101

From the Woodswether Bridge we get a good look at the historical Kaw Point where Lewis and Clark camped and where the Wyandot Nation first lived after they were moved to the Kansas City area.

We walk through Downtown Kansas City KS and enjoy colorful murals that represent the current and former ethnic population in Kansas City KS.

We loved our hike with Lisa through Strawberry Hill. After living here for 30 years I had no idea there was so much history and cool little bars and restaurants up on the hill. We also really enjoyed the large murals that were everywhere and tell the history of many of the immigrants that lived there. I highly recommend this hike!

Lisa was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. As first time visitors to KCK, we were able to experience Strawberry Hill from a locals perspective. We enjoyed learning about its history while logging some urban hiking miles. We especially appreciated hearing more about the Wyandot tribe as well as how residents of Strawberry Hill strive to make their community better.

We had a great time with old and new friends hiking through the historical Strawberry Hill district of Kansas City Ks learning about the Wyandotte Native Americans and their struggles moving west plus the history of the Slavic settlement. I enjoyed seeing all the old churches and the history behind them plus the view of downtown KC was amazing. Lisa was an excellent guide. She not only was very knowledgeable of the history but also took us by some good bars and restaurants I will be visiting in the future. I would recommend this hike to anyone the neighborhoods we visited were so quaint. Thank you Lisa - Urbanhikeskc.com

This was such a fun way to spend a nice Saturday morning! My 11- year-old son and I did the Strawberry Hill/KCK urban hike. I chose it since my grandmother grew up in this neighborhood. Even though I went into it with familiarity, I learned so much from our guide, Rebekah. My son was worried we'd spend the whole three hours being "talked at," but it was such a nice mix of a peaceful walk, engaging scenery and learning from Rebekah. Would recommend anytime.

Highly recommend Urban Hikes KC - we did the Strawberry Hill hike and it was fantastic! Lisa does an incredible job of sharing both the rich history and interesting info about the art. We also got to visit with some very interesting people along the way.

A fabulous morning full of history and city beauty! What a great way to enjoy the outdoors during these times right here at home. Rebekah was a knowledgeable, friendly and fun tour guide and shared so much about the rich culture and local gems found in KCK!

What a great experience it was to explore my home city in a new way! You learn so much about the history of Strawberry Hill settlement and the people who lived there. Highly recommend for anyone who loves to be outside and loves history. P.S arrive a little bit earlier if you’d like to sit and drink some coffee from Splitlog or you can pick it up after the hike is over!
